This figure of the Chalandriani variety embodies the style of the late stages of development in Cycladic figures, namely an emphasis on linear angularity as opposed to curved elements to express the female figure. The triangular head, square chest, and flat legs, only indicated by a grooved line, are typical of Cycladic figures from this period. For a similar example in the N.P. Goulandris collection, see C. Doumas, Cycladic Art, Ancient Sculpture and Ceramics of the Aegean from the N.P. Goulandris Collection, 1979, p. 71, no. 85.
